So I am VERY pleased with foxhall podiatry. Saw the doc, he seemed very concerned about my ankle, asked for a lot of detail. Took an xray right off, they had a machine in house, and set me up for an MRI, which I also ended up getting today, as they had an open appointment. The xray came back okay. I'm fairly amused, cos when I got the MRI, (not at foxhall podiatry, elsewhere), after my scan started, Thane apparently wandered his way in and started talking to the tech. The tech, without any comment to me, started explaining my scan results to Thane. Total HIPPA violation, but I don't actually care, cos if Thane hadn't, I wouldn't know that: There's fluid around my fibula, and my fibula was the wrong color in some of the pictures, it's too grey when other bones are white, and in the shot where my tendons were supposed to show up black, one of my littler tendons was grey, and might not be connected where it's supposed to be. So, I'm very pleased with the new podiatrist, and feeling confident about figuring out wtf is wrong and getting it fixed. Tags: health

Does anyone reading this know Dell laptops pretty well, and want to make some money figuring out what part of boyfriend's laptop (if any) is messed up, and replacing said part? He spilled soda on it, so it almost certainly needs at least the ac port replaced, if not the whole motherboard. I disassembled it to clean it when he spilled soda on it, then waited too long before attempting to reassemble it, which led to me forgetting how it went together. I can't find a service manual for it (latitude d830), and at this point would prefer to just pay someone else to deal with it anyway. So, it needs:reassembled, tested to figure out what's wrong, replacement part installed (which is readily available online regardless of if it's port or mobo, but requires desoldering&resoldering if it's the port, but mobo is 10x more expensive than just port, $30 vs $300). We'd of course pay the time&labor&parts. So, if you want to give it a shot, ping me.

So, I have more or less every single weekday free now, with the exception of Fridays after 6pm. For the past two weeks, I've hung out with one particular friend almost every day, but I realized that instead of hanging out with one person a bunch, I could hang out with a bunch of people! So, if you're local to the DC area, and want to hang out on a weekday (1pm is about the earliest I can reliably be anywhere, cos I am NOT a morning person), let me know. I don't drive, and my metro area is limited these days, cos of my hopefully temporary mobility issues. So, if we can meet up in Crystal City that's super awesome, or if you can pick me up that's wicked cool, and if nothing else I'm best off meeting someplace on the blue or yellow lines. Once or twice a week I'm in Upper NW DC, at UDC, and so can meet up in that area without much extra energy cost. Fridays when I have to go to work in Tenleytown at 6pm, I can meet in Tenleytown, or somewhere between Crystal City and Tenleytown for a late lunch/early dinner, I find 3:30 or 4pm to be fairly optimal timing for this. So! If you wanna hang out some weekday, ping me! contact info is in my user profile, and I can be reached by email at heldcATlivejournalDOTcom.
